Train to be a Couples Counsellor

Relationship Training – Course Dates 2018

Autumn: 24 Sept – 28 Sept 2018.

Individual Presentation and Feedback within six months from the end of the Course.

“This has to have been one of the best courses that I have been on in my counselling career. I felt that the course facilitators “modelled the model” and this enriched the experience and provided an excellent learning environment where skills could be developed.

SC

Develop your existing counselling skills further in the Couples Counselling Diploma Course. This is an intense, experiential course providing students with a further understanding of issues relating to various couple work scenarios and same sex relationships. This course is recognised by the Couples Counselling Network but is not an accredited BACP or UKCP course as they do not accredit short courses such as this. However, in September 2016, we were asked to speak at the BACP Private Practice Conference, “Relationships … why bother” the content of which is published in their December 2016 publication of Private Practice magazine.

Hypnotherapy Defined

Of all the definitions of Hypnotherapy, this one by Gil Boyne is the most practical and accurate. Gil is a renowned Hypnotherapist, trainer of hypnotherapists, and founder of the American Council of Hypnotist Examiners and is well respected in this field.

Hypnosis is a natural state of mind with special identifying characteristics: An extraordinary quality of relaxation.
The organism becomes self-regulating and produces normalization of the central nervous system.
Heightened and selective sensitivity to stimuli perceived by the five senses and four basic perceptions.

Children & Families

A Comfortable & Safe Environment for  You & Your Child

All children’s and young people’s sessions are approached with sensitivity and take place in a non-threatening environment.

Each session would include the presence of an adult (parent, guardian or carer) with whom the child feels comfortable. Older children may opt to receive counselling in confidence on a one to one basis, but this would only be with the consent from a parent, guardian or carer.

Quietly and reassuringly, we work with the child to bring a gentle yet effective resolution to possible issues, concerns or problems that the child is experiencing.

Some of the presenting issues that children may experience are:

  • Authority Issues
  • Behavioural Difficulties
  • Exam Stress
  • Sleep Pattern Problems & Nightmares
  • Anger Management
  • Phobias
  • Stress-Associated Bedwetting
  • Eating Disorders
  • Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD)
  • Depression
  • Bereavement
  • Abuse Related Issues

We have considerable experience in writing reports for Court and providing written assessment of cases where legally required. Correct protocols are adhered to.

Both Geoff and Helen are enhanced CRB checked.
